Webinar series: Bill Rumble: Aphorism 6 and the anthropology of existence

Webinar series: Bill Rumble: Aphorism 6 and the anthropology of existence

We are excited to have Bill Rumble return in 2026! In these sessions we will be discussing aphorisms 6 and 7.

In the first session we will explore the process by which the mistunement of the vital force can be characterised and understood by us as homeopaths. An understanding of these processes is critical to our effectiveness. It moves us from case taking to dialoguing with the forces that engender life changing events, from the apparently coincidental to the catastrophic.

In the second session we will learn, via cases and aphorism 7, the ways in which chronic disease can be understood as incomplete experiences rather than unfortunate or disastrous events.

2 sessions - 4 CPD points

About this webinar series

Aphorisms 6 and 7 hold the key to understanding the energetic background to homeopathic medicine. In Aphorism 6 we learn that the empty headed observer perceives nothing in any individual case of disease other than the alteration of the condition of the body and soul. This alteration communicates to the practitioner through symptoms (experienced by the patient), signs (experienced by the observer), and befallments (what falls to us) which alter the orchestration of the life force to a greater or lesser degree.

In the first session we will explore the process by which the orchestration (“mistunement”) of the vital force can be characterised and understood by the homeopath.

An understanding of these processes is critical to our effectiveness in working with our patients. We can move towards a compassionate understanding of befallment - moving us from a situation of case taking to a situation of dialogue with the forces that engender life changing events from the apparently coincidental to the catastrophic.

In the second session we will look at practical applications via case studies and case taking techniques - illustrating the ways in which chronic disease can be understood as incomplete experiences rather than unfortunate or disastrous events. We will be exploring Aphorism 7 and the meaning of “totality” and the ways in which disease can be understood as a communication process which points to a medicine. Interaction is particularly welcome!

About the presenter

Bill Rumble is the founder of the Welsh School of Homeopathy and a fellow of the Society of Homeopaths in the UK. He has been in clinical practice, and teaching homeopathy, for 38 years.

In Bill's words: "I am particularly fascinated by homeopathic philosophy. I believe that it holds the key to a creative and energetic practice leading to good results. Being relaxed and friendly with patients is a lot easier when we take the pressure off ourselves and respond to the signals that the disease transmits rather than trying hard to make sense of the case.

"I am not particularly interested in systematic approaches to homeopathy, I believe that the disease will communicate with us when we are spacious and that we are essentially assistants to nature."
