NHMRC Information Paper

The homoeopathic profession in Australia and overseas is still dealing with the fall-out following the National Health & Medical Research Council's (NHMRC) Information Paper 'Evidence on the effectiveness of homeopathy for treating health conditions', published 11 March 2015, and the NHMRC's 'Statement on Homeopathy', published on the same date.

Exhaustive investigations into the NHMRC's review have raised doubts whether the NHMRC conducted ethical, impartial, transparent and "rigorous" reviews of the evidence on homoeopathy and other natural therapies, using "standardised, accepted methods" as claimed.

A complaint about the NHMRC report on homoeopathy was submitted to the Commonwealth Ombudsman in August 2016.
